Nursery Room
2-3 Year Old.
The Nursery Room here at The Children's Centre is a large Open space, suitable for up to 26 children per session, boasting lots of Natural Light and a Free Flow outdoor Area.
All the work that we do within the Pre-School Room is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is the National Curriculum for children aged 2-3 years old. By using this to track children's development we are able to spot any delays early and uniquely adapt children's experiences to meet their individual needs. There are several ways in which we do this within Nursery one of which includes the additional Groups and activities we run.

Outdoor Play
Wyke Community and Children's Centre are fully committed to ensuring that children have access to Outdoor play experiences throughout the day. We believe that Outdoor play enables children to explore and create rules and understandings; develop resilience; be active; be creative and imaginative; practice new skills; learn about risks; stimulate their senses and build friendships and relationships. In addition to this regular Outdoor play enables children to develop all of these concepts whilst promoting high well-being and self-confidence.

The Outdoor space within our Pre-School room has been carefully planned to ensure children are given the opportunity to thrive in a stimulating, challenging and interesting Outdoor environment.. It offers a wide range of activities and resources to capture children's imagination and encourage children to be independent in leading their own play and following their own interests.
Children are given the opportunity to play on a large hard surface area, a large grassed area (which includes steps and a hillside), in a mud kitchen, a large sandpit, the water play area, a nature tunnel, a large ground level trampoline, a Fire pit, underground tunnels and several tree houses).
